Combustion Research and Flow Technology, Inc. (CRAFT Tech)
CRAFT Tech specializes in the simuation of Aeropropulsive and Combustive/Multiphase Flows for aerospace and commercial applications.

CRAFT CFD® Overview

  • Structured grid Navier-Stokes(N-S) and Parabolized Navier Stokes (PNS) solver
  • Generalized gas-phase thermodynamics for combusting and high-altitude non-equilibrium flows
  • Fifth-order numerics for high fidelity LES simulations
  • Advanced turbulence models including transition models
  • Two-phase Solid particulate and droplet dispersed phase equations
  • Emphasis on high-speed aero propulsive flows, blast / combustion problems, and missile /aircraft aerothermal / aeroacoustic problems

CRUNCH CFD® Overview

  • Multi-element unstructured grid, all-speed Navier-Stokes code (from incompressible to supersonic flows)
  • Emphasis on geometrically complex and or moving multi-body problems (advanced dynamic grid capabilities)
  • Multi-phase capabilities for cavitating flows as well gas/liquid systems such as cryogenic tanks
  • Generalized equations of state for real fluids including supercritical flows at high pressures, gas/liquid mixtures at subscritical pressures
  • Emphasis on cryogenic and non-cryogenic liquid flow systems including turbopumps and feed systems, as well real fluid combustion at high pressures
  • Benchmark calculations

CRISP CFD® Overview

  • Operates in parallel on multi-element (hex, tet, prism, pyramid) grids for varied unstructured Navier-stokes (UNS) codes
  • Automated interpolation to new grid and re-balancing of partitioned grids
  • Adapts to grid quality and flow features for both steady and dynamic flows
  • Coupled with CRUNCH CFD for transient applications
  • Error quantification using Error Transport Equation (ETE), error function library, and Richardson extrapolation
  • Automated, user-defined, or ETE source adaptation criteria

PDAC DSMC Overview
  • Extended version of NASA DAC97 DSMC code for rarefied flows
  • Hybrid continuum /DSMC interfacing along breakdown surface
  • Particulate and Unsteady capabilities added for short duration problems (pulse jets, bursts/blasts)

AEGIS Toolkit Overview

  • Able to generate complex interface surfaces to facilitate hybrid continuum/ rarefied simulation coupling
  • Fully automated and robust surface generation procedures
  • Ingest any continuum solution flowfield & export interface as triangulated surface elements
  • Complex hard body interfacing using GNU Triangulated Surface (GTS) boolean operators
