Combustion Research and Flow Technology, Inc. (CRAFT Tech®) was formed in 1994 with a nucleus of personnel who had worked together since the early 1980's. Our group possesses hundreds of man-years of experience in numerical modeling of aero-propulsive flowfields, and, had developed the JANNAF Standard Plume Flowfield and NASP scramjet propulsion codes. Since its inception, CRAFT Tech has grown rapidly and presently has a research staff with both varied and unique capabilities. Our technical staff has expertise in CFD, combustion, turbulence, LES, aeroacoustics, and multiphase flows. Principal areas of technology application include: rocket and airbreathing propulsion, liquid rocket turbopumps, aerodynamics, jet/plume/wake flowfields, cavity aeroacoustics, and passive and active flow control. Very close ties with the academic community are maintained via consulting relationships with professors with whom key personnel have worked with for many years.
With over 320 contracts to date, CRAFT Tech® is a recognized leader in the aero-propulsion community. Various defense contractors, DoD laboratories, and NASA centers have benefited from CRAFT Tech's expertise in analyzing exhaust plume signatures, jet noise reduction concepts, missile vibrations, cavity acoustics attenuation, scramjet combustion, cavitating flows, and numerous other challenging problems that require advanced computational methods.
CRAFT Tech has an environment conducive to performing research-grade modeling activities and the requisite office/computer equipment. All workstations are cutting edge multi-processor design with advanced graphics capabilities. Researchers have near instant access to web-based resources over a fiber optic internet connection. CRAFT Tech also has several clusters offering 32 and 64 bit Intel environments. Our headquarters are located in Pipersville, Pennsylvania (Bucks County), and is close to major airports in Philadelphia, Allentown and Newark, NJ.
